ZK Steam Awards?

I noticed at some point today that a lot of Steam games have awards that you can get, like, killing x amount of guys in x amount of time, blowing x amount of things up at once, etc., and they show what percentage of other players have this award. But Zero-K doesn't have any of those(to my knowledge).

I think that it might motivate people a little more to play if there were some awards. I don't think that this is absolutely essential or anything, but I think it's worth discussing, and I really think it will motivate some people to play more.

I think the word you're looking for is *achievements*. It would be nice, but it would create a gap between the steam and non-steam versions unless it were tied into the existing ZK statistics somehow.

I wonder, would giving yourself a speedup(10x sim speed) be the most optimal, or would that cause you to fail missions due to sneaky com snipes by the AI? we're talking any% here, I'm not sure that's disallowed.

Achievements (the Steam Awards the OP is talking about) will be added as soon as someone appears and works on them. That said, if someone does appear I'd urge them to work on planetwars instead, as the skillset is the same and the payoff seems greater.

There are already awards in ZK, like Big Purple Heart, Spoils of War etc. For consistency, I think they should just carry over to Steam achievements: If you have at least one ZK award of a kind, you would get the corresponding Steam achievement.
