I suggest neem oil for dealing with bug infestations. You can buy the oil extract itself for quite cheap on amazon and then dilute it with water in a spray bottle. Conventional insecticides are usually quite harmful because they stick around for much longer than they should in the ecosystem, killing native pollinators.
Conventional insecticides can also build up in the water table, messing everything up in the long run. Neem oil doesn't last as long but it lasts long enough to kill most pests, and you can always reapply it in the event it doesn't work perfectly the first time.
