Could there be an exploding com module? So when it dies it creates a medium sized explosion, or maybe napalm storm? Or maybe just a huge crater lol.

The idea sounds fun, but I think it would promote cheese builds too much. Imagine rushing your com into the enemy base if it had a large explosion. They would have nothing left, especially if you had units to support the Roach Commander.

In early times, commanders had laser, nukes, cloak and dgun on level zero.

They could even capture units with their mind.

The comms of today have grown too soft.

I think com-Skuttle would be awesome. This module can cause huge explosion, but be one of the available weapons only for level 3, so there would be no real explosive-com rush.

If anything, it should be stackable. So that a level 5 commander stacked with 11 Suicide Belt Modules could blow up at least like a Singu.

debateable. i prefer to be able to see the commander. the size of the module should be smaller than the com so it does not hide the com.

Just make nuclear power generator (as a commander weapon), it should generate 100E, work as a mobile pylon. BUT! Fits in commander lvl3 weapon slot and explodes as singularity! That's the twist.
And module should cost 2000-2500 metal.

Edit: scrap that. Consider this.
- Fusion weapon module: can't attack, gives pylon range, produces 15 E. You get fusion explosion on death. Chassis: Strike, Support, Battle, Bombard.
- Each E-cell module gives 10% damage and 10% blast radius, if you have fusion explosion weapon module. Otherwise just energy.
IF you get both fusion weapon module and beautiful stack of 8 E-cell modules, you lose all bonuses either of them provide. And get this instead:
- 100 E, 100% singularity explosion radius, 60% singularity explosion damage. Walking pylon.

So this works kinda in a way conversion modules work, expect that you need not only conversion module, but entire stack.

Singu com is one more troll singu rush for trolls. Also, if you lost this com, ur eco would be totally ruined.
Just a bomberman with badest bombs would be better.

i find the lack of com newton weapon disturbing.

since it was discussed first, aeons ago. just imagine, set the default ot attract, so it really magnets skuttles and stuff.
