I'm finding that the metal seems a bit high for me.

Yea, its quite easy. Imo you can lower it a bit.

Otherwise it's great, especially the models at the right side.

broken texture when zoomed out.

knorke: I guess this means I should try to release a v4 after using sme on a computer with an nvidia card?

Skasi: any suggestions? This is still my first map, so I haven't really tried anything out of the boring and ordinary. :)

yes. Or you could export heightmap & texture from SME and then compile using Mapconv. That is a bit more complicated but ‎Enetheru is working on new tutorials for that: http://springrts.com/wiki/Mapdev:Main

I suggest you use the existing textures to get an idea for a nice heightmap. The white platform could be around 100 elmos higher (that's just a guess, add or take whatever you feel like!), the darker area around it (not the street) could be all ramps. Sand could be hilly, the street flat.

No, there's no funny business with pictures taken at different times here, they were taken right after each other. You can see that the "lost vikings" thread is just 2 days old. This thread right here (nothing posted/edited for 4 days) is above it in the list. Something must have happened.
And before that comes up, no, I didn't post here, wait for a reply and then screenshot the list. Check the upload times on imgur.
