So i watched the replay but it made my computer crash right after your front fell. The Singu was at 30% health or so, so cant say if it actually survived.

Anyway, building a Singu in the front line is just a very risky (stupid) thing to do, and nobody will appreciate you doing that. Coltman tried to tell you this and he wasn't even toxic about it, but because you are unable to take in advice and use it to your advantage, you built the Singu anyway.

Basically his argument is correct, if the Singu is in the back it isnt that big of a deal even if it gets destroyed, because the explosion doesn't destroy anything of value and you can just rebuild it. The enemy has to invest a lot of metal into doing that and it might in the end not be economical for them.

The place where you put the Singu was easily in range of enemy silos and later even of Impalers, which means it was actually not at all that well protected even with the Funnels around.

So yeah in my view absolutely the right move by Coltman trying to prevent you from doing such a stupid thing, it didnt matter in the end because you got rolled anyway, but it could have.

I just answered that, if it isnt economical for your enemy to take out your Singu then its worth building it. If they have to spend say 4 odins (6k metal) to take out your 1 Singu (4k metal) and you get all the reclaim, then its not worth doing.

Funnel spam cant hold up against the amount of artillery they made. Also a silo can just emp the funnels. The Singu is a single point of failure for the whole front, that is what makes it so risky. You just have to kill that one thing that has only 4k hp.

I would say the opposite, he was desperate because you didn't listen so he did something that is normally not legit.

A pink star or arguments about what is good play shouldn't justify actions ingame, like reclaim teammates frontline singus or try to kick someone.

If I think something is really bad play and I'm right, matches should result in different elo and then we shouldn't meet in matches anymore. And if the matches don't show that result, maybe my argument wasn't that good and I'm wrong. The game and matchmaking should decide.

But Zero-K currently doesn't work that way. We don't have matchmaking for teams and we are always in one lobby. So we need ways to deal with what players think is effectively malicious play.

There is a line to walk in judging what to stop by force, and there is always risk involved. So I reach my hand to you and try to explain why a frontline singu is horrible, so I hopefully never need to decide whether to stop a teammate from building one.

I'm not sure what the moderation team is going to do about this incident.

Speaking for myself, I am reluctant to set the precedent that it is okay to reclaim your teammates' stuff just because you are of the belief that doing so is good for your team's chances of winning.

I am also reluctant to set the precedent that building a Singu in the middle of your team's base, without the consent of your team, is acceptable.

If a team is in agreement that placing a Singu in their base is a good idea, then they are welcome to do so. I think there is some possibility they could be correct.

It is hard to judge the merits of the Singu placement in this specific game since I think East team was extremely unlikely to win no matter what decisions they made at the time when the Singu was placed. I am dubious that the Funnelweb was viable protection given the mass of opposing Impalers.
