Perfect accuracy long range burst with actually decent DPS and multihit potential...

Though I feel Lance is only as bad as it is because area cloaking makes punishing MUCH harder (cloaking is a big plus to burst arti and also makes pushing in to kill the lance much riskier because you can't tell how much riot there is).

It is curious that at 3200+ elo lences stop working and I start losing with this meta, but other metas work..

Only an amateur but my theory is that Lances can be countered in interesting ways when there is room to manoeuvre and sufficient skill, but in denser games and for lower skill players it's very hard.

Also yeah, area cloaking isn't cool. Special ops cloaking to sneak attack - can be frustrating like other sudden uncounterable actions, but quite cool. General "I can't even see WTH I am fighting" area cloaking - makes the game extremely unsatisfying and looks rubbish.

So wait, if lance can't have all three... (High damage/range and accuracy)

Instead of nerf the obvious damage or range we nerf the accurcy.

But plot twist, now it fires a “cone” instead of a perfect laser.
Still instant hitting to anything within the cone, but there is a damage falloff on account of less of the “laser” being able to hit one target at a time.

The cone would spread out the farther it reaches, and I just think I'd be an interesting twist IDK.

Yes, you can run lua scripts in game. This does not mean that you're going to be able to convince AUrankAdminGoogleFrog to adopt it. Context: AUrankAdminGoogleFrog seems adverse to lua controlled weapons because of perf concerns. Though this is severely outdated info.

Actually, I don't see lance being changed majorly like this, as AUrankAdminGoogleFrog has stated in the past that Lance is "Cool, and big blue death laser is cool". Paraphrased. Though if you would like to mod it, you could make the laser into a spray laser cannon or a shotgun type laser similar to FW Purifier/Krow.

lower eloed player making lance can be "countered" by stuff like cloak assault, cloak snitch, likho. stuff like that "cant" counter competent one, but the competent one only have so much metal, so the competent ones making lance isnt hard to simply overrun, it's abit like purple player rushing nuke and lob rushing nuke
