At minute 7:25, in southern area of the center plain, my Stinger does not shoot to a Recluse that was in range.
It wasn't in hold fire and I tried even force fire. No results.
There are a couple of palm trees in the middle, but I think that map features like that does not block LOS.
Someone can explain why Stinger didn't shoot? Thank you.

Palmtrees do not block line of sight, but their collision volumes can block units from fireing. My guess(have not watched the replay) is that the palm tree has either a sphere or thin line collision, and the recluse hides behind that hitbox. Since the stinger shoots a straight lazer, the tree blocks the path. if the recluse can shoot the stinger, some units take into account curved/arced fireing lines, so a recluse could shoot over or something of that order. map features and unit wrecks have very noticeable effects like this for example in schorcher battles, where schorchers cannot shoot through schorcher wrecks, as well on maps like andosnia where the small palmtree clusters in the middle by the river can really mess with attacks.

Ok thank you. The palm trees have a sphere, and as USrankAdminSteel_Blue says thats probably preventing Stinger to fire (See this Steam screenshot)

Looks a bit weird. Is this intended?

As far as I know, it's "intended" but I prefer maps where collision volumes are closer to the model. Other maps where strange things like circular palm trees happen are like the dead bushes in desert needle small. They look small and short, but their collision is a giant sphear that is bigger than the visual footprint. Good trees are fit example on living lands, the trees are tall and narrow and collision if tall and narrow cylinder. Same goes for the trees on the new matchmaker map I think called obsideon, same thing with the trees. Quicksilver I think has some jank trees and rocks.

IMO this makes no sense. No tree should prevent a unit to shoot. It was frustrating, I built that Stinger precisely for killing Recluses.

You can attack ground to force a unit to fire without avoiding trees and wrecks.

Well, I tried force fire on the Recluse and didnt work. But didnt tried attack to ground.
Still, I think this should not work this way.
