Line movement V2 ?

We've had line movement in spring for over 10 years now.
Maybe there are some improvements that could be made to it?
It would certainly fit the sort of smart unit management thing ZK has going on.

First feature suggestion:

Distributing unit types evenly when a line movement order is given.
As it is, you can often end up with a army that looks like this:

Thats definitely not how u want to march ur army into battle.

Now, if units intelligently assembled amongst the line, we could end up with something looking like this:

Much better, isn't it?

The only question is - If theres only one of a certain unit then imo it should always be in the middle.
But what if there are 2?

Option a) They could be on the outer ends of the formation, like in this example:

Option b) They could be standing not at the outer ends, but in the middle of the other units, with a even distance between each other.

Not sure which one I personally prefer (opinions?), but either option would be far better than the hodgepodge units can end up in currently. Perhaps b) would be better, so shields would be more likely to link up.

Second feature suggestion:

You are selecting your Autogroup 1, in this case only Knights. You are making a line formation with your units, the whole autogroup 1 - some of those are already on the front with reinforcements coming from the factory waypoint.
What usually happens? The units that are already on the frontline stack up on one side of your line formation - not covering the complete line and being unnecessarily exposed to AOE effects, etc.

Would it not be great if those units that are already close would spread out amongst that line, leaving space in between to be filled by the reinforcements?

I like these suggestions very much, especially the auto-distribute of unit types.

Make it a toggle if possible, but I'd ALWAYS have it on, for sure.

I dislike smart behaviors that make basic commands less predictable and wouldn't use this.

With the current behaviour it attempts to minimise the summed travel distance of all the units. This gives the formations some stability when issued multiple times. Swapping unit positions around based on unit count could lead to in-battle instability if units die or fail to be selected. Some good version of your suggested behaviour is likely possible though.
