Why does stupid spam lance win matches?

I do micro, build a lot of units and so on, the lance comes and destroys everything. Complete shit! I don't want to play lance spam every match again because it's a winning tactic - it's boring!

Once upon a time... I liked to play with Emissaries, but it was nerfed totally. About 10 Emissaries were able punch a Paladin seriously, it was quiet fast and accurate. Today Emissary is nothing, it is slow, have a delay and inaccurate with shots. But what about Lance? It still very powerful and accurate. Why such injustice?

Tremor vietnam games were way worse than current no-counter sudden death cloak lances. Lance didn't have the AI benefit of avoiding bait fire back then, tremors prevented mass cloak usage. It was always op based on stats, just tremor was way more op.

I don't think Tremor was ever particularly the thing keeping Lance under control. Emissary seems closer to the mark.

The concept that nerfing some units may result in some other things becoming the new meta does not seem like a revolutionary concept that anybody needs to "wake up" to.

However, that concept is not a good reason to avoid nerfing things.

I can see one pattern - unit who is medicore in 1 vs 1 can be devastating in cluster games.
