What I seem to notice on these forums is the same people disliking things together. Think for yourself and don't follow the crowd

I agree with you, though I honestly haven't put much thought into the topic.

It felt appropriate because everyone else was liking it :D

Votes on the forum serve a useful purpose as long as they continue to mean "I like/dislike the contents of this post".

Sometimes a bunch of people all decide independently that a certain post is worthy of particular appreciation or scorn, and that's perfectly ok. If a bunch of posts with the same basic idea keep getting made, then it is to be expected that the same people will have the same reaction to the same idea.

If votes start meaning things such as "I like/dislike the person who made this post", "I am being a contrarian because I want to be a contrarian", et cetera, then that would be a problem.

I feel I pretty rarely downvote. If one got some downvotes from me it's likely one made posts that were ignorant, mean or deceptive.

Thinking for yourself is a good habit indeed. Although, in your case @Lightzerve, it doesn`t seem to get you anywhere, so probably just stop with it.

(...because we are already at at-hominem-arguments)

USrankDave[tB] I think there's a few other personal reasons you forgot to mention

DErankkatastrophe bro why would I give up my free thought. I don't want to be a vegetable like you guys :/

How does your call for independent thinking go together with your habit to basically always share Skrids opinion?
Either you actually lack basic self-reflexion or you sit there and think we are too stupid to realize
1. that that post is coming from the person with one of the least independent identities in the whole community
2. that it is trying to undermine factual arguments by claiming things that are not just completely speculative, but also irrelevant. People can get to the same opinion independently from each other, and on top of that a decent argument is not devalued if it is being copied by someone else.

We both believe in the idea of freedom of expression on this forum. We're also against bimbo moderation. Most times we share an opinion it's on forum posts regarding these topics.

So when you agree with Skrid you "both believe in [an] idea" but when other people agree with each other they are "vegetable[s]"?

They (noticeable few who disagree) have nothing to bring but disagreement. They're not fun and can't handle anything.

I think you cannot handle being picked apart. Thats why you have to resort to the shady strategy of delegitimizing others opinions as "unindependent".
+ I guess you use the term "vegetable" as derogatory, but since that also would mean that vegetables are able to make more logically cohesive arguments than you, I guess I am fine with being called one.

AUrankAdminAquanim, I haven't even posted in the topic and you're already harassing me.

I suggest you follow section 1 of the Code of Conduct. Enough with the ad hominems, man.

It's no wonder so many people have beef with you.

DErankkatastrophe, I can say the same to you for being AUrankAdminAquanim's flunkie and sharing his every opinion. Tell me, what do you hope to gain by this drone behavior?

Enlighten me please. I'd love to see a breakdown of every time I've downvoted you with your post alongside.

I didn't bring your name into this thread, and I don't see what part of that post you are interpreting as having anything negative to say about you. The post is barely about you at all, it is a question about how Lightzerve views the world. So if you would like me to understand this accusation, you will need to explain it some more.

The upvotes and downvotes have nothing to say since the total views/neutrals are missing.

USrankSkrid really? Your last two posts are just so offensively disingenuous. It takes some pretty poor comprehension or willful misreading to get to your post.

The exchange you quote starts with @Lightzerve saying:
quote:
DErankkatastrophe bro why would I give up my free thought. I don't want to be a vegetable like you guys :/

DErankkatastrophe responds and @Lightzerve follows up with:
quote:
We both believe in the idea of freedom of expression on this forum. We're also against bimbo moderation. Most times we share an opinion it's on forum posts regarding these topics.

So it seems like @Lightzerve has a double standard. He says that when other people agree they are vegetables, but when he agrees with someone they are both just expressing a belief in the same idea.

AUrankAdminAquanim points out this double standard via the device of restating what someone just said as a question about whether they really believe it (this can be helpful as miscommunication is common, and people can not realise what others think they meant).
quote:
So when you agree with Skrid you "both believe in [an] idea" but when other people agree with each other they are "vegetable(s)"?

Then you, USrankSkrid, come in and interpret this as harassment. It takes a lot of questionable steps to reach that interpretation. The sentence is a comment about what @Lightzerve just said, not what you have said. Someone agreeing with you doesn't directly cast you in a bad light. What really gets me is how you left the question mark off the end of the quote. But that doesn't even make it harassment! It looks like you wanted to manufacture a quote where AUrankAdminAquanim calls you a vegetable, but you are "Skrid" in the quote, not "other people"!

But what else is there? Is being called "both believe in [an] idea" harassment? I think you meant
quote:
Enough with the ad hominems, man.

to refer to the word vegetable.

Do you really think AUrankAdminAquanim called you a vegetable? I doubt it. You've had an inexplicable beef with moderation (specifically AUrankAdminAquanim) for a while now. You left off the question mark in your quote. I think you're just pulling out every dirty trick you can think of to manufacture drama. The misquote doesn't even work. If you think you're fighting some sort of fight for better moderation, then you are sorely mistaken.

Do you want to remain on this forum? A lot of what you talk about is about ZK, comments on the game. But if you're willing to play this dirty with words, to so blatantly misinterpret what was said, then you are going to be ejected. There isn't any reason for the rest of us to put up with this.

This goes for you too @Lightzerve, but you've progressed far further than USrankSkrid and I don't recall a time when you didn't just post nonsense in attempts to enrage or stir up drama.
