I feel like quake is not very useful. The use cases I see right now are any unshielded thing that is also in a terraform pit or on a spire, so like a big crab spire, an antinuke behind the lines, an unshielded bertha, a ramp launcher... I think it could use a buff to pass through shields, what do you guys think. Maybe we are just not using it to its full effect...

There are two types of units:
  • Those you build, and then find a way to use cost effectively.
  • Those that you see a way to use cost effectively, and then build.

Quake is an extreme case of the latter.

Many times, I see quakes being more costly than a ravager line, less useful than a tremor. Maybe buffing its cost could see it be used more often, maybe in an experimental update? I'd love to see dirt-cheap quakes, could help with dirt-cheap dirtbags.

But then terraforming would become almost useless - or rather, any defensive terraform would absolutely have to be topped by razors etc., so it's immune to terrain damage until the structure is destroyed.
