I am trying to film a trailer for ZK, but cheats won't enable in game (I am in my own game). I type in "/cheats" and it does not respond, then I type in "/nocost" and it says I don't have permission to execute the command. Does anyone know how to get cheats to work?

If you are in a springie host (which I think is the default when you host with Zero-K lobby) then you have to tell Springie that you want to cheats enabled by the command using the command "!cheats".

Edit: After testing it myself I notice I aren't allowed to execute /nocost.
I am allowed to "/give armcom1" though.
Strange. I don't know how to enable /nocost on a springie host.

You can use all cheats while using a local spring engine in offline mode. Go to the folder of the engine you want to use (for example 91.0 is located in spring/engine/91.0) and run spring.exe.

The engine uses the basic settings as default. If you want to make it use the same settings you have when using Zero-K lobby, copy the stuff you have in your spring base folder, and in your LuaUI folder, there.

Other useful cheats are /godmode which makes you able to control enemy units, and /globalLOS to see everything or /spectator to become a spec.

Good luck!

someone posted it on a replay I think. Maybe you have to be boss? With the command !boss?

its /cheat not /cheats

Yeah it's "!cheats" in springie hosts (and you have to be boss), and it's "/cheat" when you're using local spring.exe.

some cheats are only available to the host (springie) iirc /nocost is one of them. You'd have to host a local game to get access to that.

Cause you don't know filenames of all the units!

On springie it is "!cheats" because only the host of the game can give the "/cheat" command. As springie is the host there is a springie command to tell it to send the host only command. Some other commands (eg. apparently "/nocost") are host only as well.

I guess I can just set Metal Mult and E Mult to 100. Is there a cheat or option to make things insta-build?

just locate your spring.exe and doubleclick It will be so much less painful. You can use /nocost /globallos /give all /team 0 /team 1 /spectator and whatever not.

Ah, ok. I was hoping to be able to reload a replay of the game and record that, but I can figure out something.

You have to make sure you are !boss of your room before you can use !cheats, if using Springie.

I think that replays are automatically saved in the "demos" folder.
Drag the replayfile(.sdf) file to your spring.exe to play it.

@[RD]Godde Thanks, I did not realizes it saved the replays locally.

DErank[2up]knorke That is much easier than what I have been doing. I have been using mission editor, but it has been crashing constantly at startup. Thanks for the tip.

Can't find out how to do the infinite economy thing. Nocost doesn't work, and I saw CUZII with billions of mass, but that's probably a modoption. Also, how does one spawn roosts that spawn chix?
