Could you change it to something more user friendly with quote buttons and stuff? phpBB for example

I actually prefer the ZK forums to most traditional solutions. Posts are much more condensed and threads can have lots of discussion without having pages that go into the double digits. No obnoxious signatures or large avatars, very few buttons cluttering threads.

I don't find it a big issue to type bbcodes. I've been using forums long enough I have what I use memorized. There's a thread stickied somewhere which outlines all the usable ones here if there is a command you don't know offhand.

Buttons for BBCode tags sounds like a good idea. Otherwise I'm not sure what would be useful from other forums, since many other forum engines, especially PHPBB, have a lot of clutter with signatures and a personals ad under each username. Maybe an emoticon list, but that's probably just distracting.

Yeah the layout is really clean and nice. The only thing i would like would be quote button though

This is what @theMooseIsLoose is talking about. Personally I think that this forum is very effective, it is not cluttered and once you remember the very small amount of BBCode you need it is fine.

it would be nice to have team liquid-style highlighted posts by good posters and minimalised posts of trollposters

Posts need a proper separation (can be done in 10-20 minutes), even with stylish.

And maybe identation for answers.

It could be more user-friendly with some editor-enhancements.
* such as [-quote-]-Taging for the selected text
* that you can make a free text line between [-/quote-] and your text without getting 2 free lines
* button for "important" -> [-b-]
* "important in the context / a sentence" -> [-u-]
* The user name could be not a link (so that it is easier to copy it) but have a link/symbol after it.
* * Alternative: A copy into clipboard symbol/link for user names.

Something i've only seen in one forum so far: Ctrl+b

[b][/b] tags, Ctrl+i

, Ctrl+u = etc.
I find that incredibly useful.

On a german keyboard you have to do an awkward motion to type [ and ], which is my only problem with actually writing the bb code. I don't complain because square brackets are abundant when programming and it's not a big deal, but while we're at it...

Ctrl+b is also bookmarks menu in firefox. Others possibly clash elsewhere.

A javascripted wysiwyg bbcode editor could probably be found somewhere, but i kinda like the minimalizm.

Doesn't change the fact that the command works properly for me in said forum (without bringing up bookmark frame).

Yes, it only brings up bookmarks (like ctrl+i) here.

A few buttons should be there! - I mean at least a help-button with a link to a formatting manual

[*size=0.7]This would be a good text size for me, but the forum don't accept it! :)[*/size]

If I was to request a button for anything it would be to delete my own posts. No way to do that other then pming a mod currently.
