Why is this map even used? It feels like two separate maps rather than just one map.

Not for air, but yeah don't like it either because it encourages too much lane fighting and it's very hard for land to help north/south...

That's a downfall to big team map design:
- The map has to be big enough to support players without it being cramped.
- The map has to allow sufficient mobility such that one "lane" can cross into a nonadjacent lane easily.
- The map has to have enough metal to not cause it to be "lose your initial bandit/raider wave and wait 5 years to be able to do anything" (for some people playing at 4m/s is "fun" so.. this is optional)
