sort
certain units/structure by time restriction before they can be build after certain time.
example

units :
arti unit => 7 min
heavy unit => 15 min
strider => 20 min

structures :
fusion reactor => 10 min
singu => 15 min
super weapon => 20min

just example , perhaps can split super weapon in stages
cerb => 10 min
bertha => 15 min
other => 20 mins

this was sortof once a thing but was not very popular. i think that if the players are good they normally dont make heavies from the go. which is why they restrictions used to only apply to new players.

I think the whole point of zero k is the flat tech tree. Other games already do tech trees like Starcraft

purpose of suggesting this to prevent early team rush super/strider unit that ends the game when its done, so people get to play the game instead of death sentence as soon as its done.
end game less than 10 mins, doesnt get to play the game.

This is, sort of, already in the game through energy grid requirements.

Besides, when you have 12+ players in a team and many (half or more) of them pool together, even a tech tree wouldn't do much to slow a rush down more than energy already does.

Unless there is a hard timer on when certain things can be built, team games will always be prone to weird rush strats that would never work in small teams and especially not in 1v1.

Sounds to me like someone is looking for an excuse so they wont have to do their homework of initial scouting.

Zero-K ist still a slightliy more complicated rock paper sicors game. Once you know what your enemys Hand will be ...

but the good players are the rock in-front of the paper and the rock gets stabbed with scissors and thats the problem its that the paper doesnt help the rock vs the scissors.. so you can scout the enemy paper and you can attack it with your own scissors and somewhere there will always be a sad rock defending paper

The thing is that we play rock-paper-scissors but all players can have all 3 at the same time. So, what you do when your enemy also has a scissor, a paper and a rock? Exactly. You take a bigger rock.
