I though imprementing more varied turrets would be good for game. But adding them to con ''defence'' list would be too boring. So I thought we could have more fancy way of deploying some light turrets. An unit, with morph to stationary form button. It wouldn't even need new models. Only thing that had to be done is removing tracks/wheels/legs of units, to make it looks grounded.

However, allowing all units to be morphed would be to... comprehensive. So one unit per fac would be enough. For eg: Leveler in LVs (finaly a proper RIOT cannon turret), Thug in SBots (Turret with personal shield? Me gusta), and Panther in HVs (Superb synergy with Faraday).

About stats. Morph wouldnt cost anything, but would last 20 seconds, just to prevent ''rush swarm into enemy base, and morph it to turrets'' idea.
Stationary form would get +25% damage resistance (get hit by 75HP instead of 100), and get +25% range boost. Morphing back to movable form would take another 20 secs.

I know its a bit controversial idea, but I though it is worth mentioning, and seeing what u think about it.
And this case would make few new tactics possible, like nuking, rushing units, and making a fast def, with those turrets. It also makes ''Go to point A, leave some forrces there, and then move rest to point B'' tactic much easier, as u no longer have to mess with gruping part of ur units to one group, and part to another, which will be messed after a while anyway.

Well... So, share your thoughs!

I think having movable turrets would be awesome. Like Bugs in KP.
I think having 'em in every fac is a bad idea, but it would be cool for some fac.
(Or better plane which drop a turret which deploys)

There are turrets that could use a re-think (like the Gauss). There is possibility for creating more deployable turret-units like the Slasher and the Crabe.

But taking a blanket game-wide approach of mixing turret-deployment into half the game?

Nope.

I'd like to see more difference in existing porc, especially when it comes to AA. Feeling like this topic is brought up often, 'cause I'm repeating myself. Defender, Hacksaw, Chainsaw, Screamer. They're all just shooting boring missiles.

Skasi yes - the static AA is a place where some creativity can happen since the mobile AA is generalist by the necessity of one-mobile-AA-per-lab. Instead we have the strict linear progression of 4 anti-plane units and 2 anti-gunship units.

how about the approach to turrets NOTA has - turrets can be moved by picking them up with a transport

How about a special constructer that can only make units that have a deploable state

Wouldn't that be a lab? Like, turretbots? Of course, it would be hard to make a turretbot raider.

I think turret must be strong. Someone had said that to raid a defending team one must have twice the amount of unit as the defender. This mean if turret is the defender then it must be strong.

If unit morph into a turret then it is a weak turret.

Again, the Slasher and the Crabe provide a mental model here - they're more powerful than their mobile counterparts when deployed, but they're weaker than a full static.

How about a turret that fires turrets?

FYI xponen, turrets are 3/2 times as strong as an equal cost in mobile units.

We need a superweapon that is simply a ultra-long-range caretaker with something like 25 (or 50) buildpower and that can make any unit including terraform. There's your turret that makes turrets.

Turretbot lab sounds awesome. The raider could have no weapons while mobile, then morph really fast into a double llt! AWESOMESAUCE

The superunit could be something like the juggernaught(R.I.P) while mobile and somthing with much lss HP but epic support powers and dps when morphed

USrankTheDarkStar - just give the Missile Silo a missile that deploys an immobile con on impact.

More static defenses you say? Do you not think the game gets static and boring enough? I think mojjj summarized it pretty well with that gif.

This static defense is not so static.

If it gets more power when it is deployed the game will become much more focused on static area control.

Units that can be deployed to turret arent as static as u think they are. It's rather kind of fast expansion unit, which can be later used in different way.
Its also much better for noobs. Your team noob porcs too much? Show him turret-bots. He'll make some turrets, and may be later, he'll use them in wise way.

It gets slightly buffed when static. But complete morph from movable to static, and back to movable takes 40 seconds, in which unit cannot move. Its enoguh time to be merled/pillaged/ tremored/skuttled/detried/nuked/whatever u like. Also, u cant win game by using only static form.
