Likho failed in two different ways.

The first would be "user error", except that the term is only for people who don't think basic aim of the UI is to read players' minds. https://github.com/beyond-all-reason/spring/issues/1245

The second seems to be a bug. https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/issues/5173

Thanks a bunch for looking into this. Agreed that "user error" is not really the right term here, but it's pretty damn close in that as the user, I can kind of prevent it from happening by angling properly from the onset.

Could one of the main contributors be placement of the rearming pad? Like, if the pad is close to the middle of the base, then there's s a 50% chance that it'll hang north and 50% chance that it'll hang south. But if the rearming pad is on the far north side, there's a 90% that it'll bank that direction? Not sure if that's actually how that works - just spitballing.

Think we talked about this a long while back. IIRC, one of the conclusions was that if it's already banking towards the rearm pad then gets a command that would lead it to banking the other direction, it'd just be a simple calculation to check if the time to get to the rearm pad is longer if it needs to switch to banking the opposition direction.

Two other thoughts:
-Have the UI point out which direction the likho will go after it bombs.
-An attack command won't just fly directly straight, but instead automatically attempts to kite the bomb drop at an angle.

No, it just turns in whatever direction is the shortest turning arc. There are no chances of turning one way or the other.

Queue a move command after the attack? But sure, if someone writes this widget and it works reliably, idk why it wouldn't be used.

Odin can abuse this to move wayyyyy outside the edges of the map. It's being abused in the current game to successfully avoid AA to target backline singus.

its possible to do with every plane unit that isnt crane with high enough APM., just odin fits the use best. its not like a bug or anything. and there is outer bounds where it cant go

+ AA and AA Air can hit out there

Odin subsequently abuses this, bypassing the lower-range Anti-Air by going outside of the "playable map", meaning certain Anti-Air units/buildings can't hit it, thus making it somewhat unfair.
