correct me AUrankAdminGoogleFrog , but i think units take damage when offmap (to prevent spacejacks and stuff). this is not a bug.

This is certainly something someone could look into. I recall the offmap damage being percentage based. Also bouncing back off the map after entering, due to sloped terrain, seems like something to try to avoid.

If this were a tournament game then I'd say that the game is the game, and it should be played as it is. Whether or not you know about, and can exploit or avoid, this interaction would be treated as a skill issue. On the other hand, if nobody knew or cared about skill rating at all, then it might make sense to noelo it, if we could be sure that it is degrading match balance.

In reality we are somewhere between the two, and the more people seem to care, the less I want to do it. The tiebreaker may be that I don't want the ability to complain about bugs that caused a game loss to factor into the elo calculation (which it would if such complaints were granted).

  • the det was in a transport moving parallel to the map border.
  • the transport was killed, det was falling onto the map close to the border.
  • a newton was close, shooting at the det from the side, pushing the det directly perpenticular towards and over the map border.
  • det was pushed offmap, taking some damage.
  • det was reset on map.
  • det was pushed again offmap by the same newton, taking damage.
  • repeat till det exploded.

is there something wrong with that thing happening?

Understandable, but you rather have the bugs themselves factor into the elo calculation?

I would consider practically the moderator's time as more important than short term elo accuracy. And I am probably from the people that care somehow about elo.

Yes, it does not feel nice but there are multiple "not cool" things in large team games (ex: multiple players away and still vote exit does not pass, players not present from the start and still they get the elo, network disconnections mid-game, a player that suddenly decided to troll)... Of all, finding a "strange behavior" that makes my team loose is less annoying for me personally.
