This game demonstrated a counterintuitive strategic principle I'd never seen before. On maps with a high water table, nuking an enemy amph and/or hovercraft army without an allied amph or hover army to directly answer them will expand the enemy territory in the long run by giving them favorable terrain on the front in the form of deep water.
